Harvest Festival – a great end to this half term!
Headteacher’s Blog
Dear Parents and Carers
25th October 2019, Harvest Festival
Next week we are holding our Harvest Festival service at the school and our new Reverend Graeme Dixon will be joining us for his first school event. On that note, we do have plans to hold a Christingle service at St John’s in December. There will be more information on this to follow after the half term.
25th October 2019, ‘What makes Rownhams Special?’ (film production)
On the same day next week we hope to start recording for a short film about our school. The purpose of this is to celebrate our school and what makes Rownhams special. The finished production (which probably be 2-3 minutes long) will be placed on our website. Ellie Powell, a media student at Winchester University, has very kindly offered her services and expertise to this end. Thank you in advance Ellie!
New website
If you have been on our website recently you will have seen that it is looking a bit untidy and some sections are missing. We are in the process of updating and improving this so please bear with us. In the meantime, if you need any information that would normally be on the website please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Wellness Week
Next week are holding a Wellness Week for staff and children. The children will be participating in small activities to raise awareness about looking after your mind, such as mindfulness. In Collective Worship today, Lion Class today shared their thoughts on how to manage your worries and the importance of talking to someone. So, with those thoughts in mind I’ll leave you with this week’s quote from the Bible:
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
1 Peter 5:7 , New Living Translation (NLT)
Warm regards,
Tim Woodford, Headteacher
