We share our latest news and annoucements here…
This week we reopened our school to our Year R, Year 1 and Year 6 children. It is fair to say that our whole community was anxious about the restart but I am happy to report that the week has been successful – the feedback has been very positive and the children have been absolutely brilliant! Thank you to the whole community for responding so well to our plans and making our school a safe and welcoming place to be.
As you will be aware following the Prime Minister’s address last week, schools are now being asked to begin the process of re-opening for children in Years R, 1 and 6 from 1st June 2020. I am sure this will raise many questions and create anxieties about what this means for you and your child. Hopefully, today’s blog will help to ease those concerns and provide some clarity on what this could look like at Rownhams. But first…
We promised some changes to our online provision and Mr Warner did this in style with his live Bake Along. The children were able to improve their measuring skills, understanding of gluten and kneading skills through the means of ‘Google Meet’. They were enthralled by his natural baking skills and now we can’t wait for the next one!
All the staff at Rownhams are wishing our children and families well as we start the summer term… in very different circumstances. We know how tough this is for everyone, especially as many of you are trying to support your children in their home-schooling, whilst also managing your own work and other responsibilities. Take if from us, though, you are doing great!
So, we have made it to the end of this term – one that has been a strange and unsettling time for all of us. I’d like to thank you for the quick transition you have made from parent or carer to home-school teacher. From the many posts and comments we have seen online you are clearly absolute naturals! It has been a real pleasure to see so many families doing great learning, and having great fun, together!
