Star Warts: The Umpire Strikes Back

Thank you, Year 6! It has been a true pleasure to watch you progress through our school. We are all so incredibly proud of what you have accomplished and what you have become. You are now ready for a new challenge and the whole of Team Rownhams wishes you every happiness and continued success. In this week’s blog, check out the photos from Year’s 6 galactic production ‘Star Warts: The Umpire Strikes Back, Year 6 Leavers’ Slideshow, plus many more photos of our last week or two in school. Thank you to all of our parents and carers for your support throughout the year - and for those whose this is your last newsletter we wish you all the best for the future.

Year R - Sewing Puppets

In DT this week, Year R have been applying the sewing skills they have learnt this year to enable them to make their own animals puppets. We had some brilliant teachers join us from Year 5 and the children were so grateful for thier positivity, encouragement and guidance.

Year 1/2 - Sculpting Flowers

In Art, the children have been looking at the sculptor Marc Quinn. Marc Quinn is well known for his sculptures and his choice of materials to work with, which includes flowers. The children chose to create their own flower sculptures out of clay.

Year 3/4 - Rowan Class at Minstead

For a special set of memories, I have uploaded a few more pictures from Rowan’s trip to Minstead.  I didn’t want to give too much away before but feel now we can show more of what we did.  There are images of us fire lighting; orienteering; setting humane traps and finding out what creatures had been caught.  Also of us having some relaxing fun in the forest!

Year 5/6 - Star Warts: The Umpire Strikes Back

Years 5 and 6 wowed their audiences with their incredible acting and singing skills when they performed Star Warts: The Umpire Strikes Back. After weeks of learning lines, dance moves, prop positions and stage timings, the show went off without a hitch – multiple times! The choir was spectacular, the actors were on point and the sound and music was fantastic. If you were lucky enough to see it, you would agree all the children did an amazing job and proved that our cast was full of stars…

And, finally… here is the Years 6 Leavers’ Slideshow, just in case you missed it!
