At Rownhams St. John’s we are committed to the values of love, joy and responsibility. These values underpin everything we do as a school community as well as shape our curriculum and collective worship.
God is love (1 John 4:16)
God is at the heart of what it is to be a Christian. It means putting others before yourself and not expecting anything in return. We give love and respect others as we are all made in God’s image.
Love is at the very heart of the Christian faith, all humanity and spirituality, irrespective of religion. If you do not know love then you do not know God. God is love.
The most important thing for us to learn as we travel through life is to show love through our actions towards ourselves, one another and the world.
Appreciating and being thankful
All that is around us leads to joy, daily. Living in the knowledge that God is bigger than our despair leads to hope.
Living with love and fulfilling our responsibilities leads to joy
Responsibility in our school is shown by treating others as you yourself would like to be treated. Standing up for what is right by either saying yes or no and caring for your world. To be the best you can be by striving to improve in any/every situation and accepting people (including yourself) for who they are.
