Team R:
The Year R children have been making the most of the warm weather by enjoying some water play in our tough tray! 💦☀️
As they splashed, poured and explored, the children had lots of opportunities to develop their fine motor skills, work together with their friends and use their imaginations. Water play also encouraged plenty of conversation as the children shared ideas, solved problems and discovered different ways to play.
Most importantly, everyone had a wonderful time keeping cool, having fun and learning through play. It was lovely to see so many happy smiles as the children enjoyed the sunshine together!

Stepping Back in Time – Our Victorian School Day
Team 1/2 had a fantastic time stepping back in time as they dressed up for a Victorian School Day. Looking incredibly smart in their Victorian-inspired outfits, the children became historians for the day as they explored what school life was like over 100 years ago.
Our day began with an exciting investigation of a range of Victorian artefacts. The children carefully observed each object, asking thoughtful questions and gathering evidence about what the artefacts could tell us about life in the past. They considered who might have used each item, what it was made from and how it compared to the objects we use today. Using everything they had learnt, the children worked together to create their very own Victorian Museum, carefully displaying the artefacts and sharing their historical knowledge with others.
The fun continued outside as the children enjoyed playing traditional Victorian playground games, discovering how children entertained themselves without modern technology. There was lots of laughter as they learnt new games and experienced a small part of childhood from the Victorian era.
Back in the classroom, the children experienced another aspect of Victorian school life by practising their handwriting on chalkboards and using chalk to solve arithmetic questions, just as Victorian children would have done. They quickly realised how different learning was compared to using whiteboards, exercise books and interactive technology today!
To finish our topic, we were delighted to welcome parents into school for our History Outcome. The children proudly shared everything they had learnt throughout the topic, showcasing their museum, explaining the artefacts they had investigated and talking enthusiastically about their Victorian School Day experiences. It was wonderful to see the children confidently sharing their historical knowledge and celebrating all they had achieved.
We are incredibly proud of the curiosity, enthusiasm and historical thinking shown byTeam 2/2. It was a memorable way to bring history to life and helped the children develop a deeper understanding of what life was like for children in Victorian Britain.

Celebrating a Wonderful Year of Creativity in Year 3/4
This week, we were delighted to welcome the parents and families of our Year 3/4 children into school to celebrate an incredible year of artistic achievement.
Throughout the year, the children have explored the work of a range of famous artists, drawing inspiration from L.S. Lowry, Pablo Picasso, Edvard Munch, and Hans Holbein. By studying their unique styles and techniques, the children have developed their own artistic skills and confidence, producing a fantastic variety of artwork that we were proud to display.
Over the course of the year, the children have worked exceptionally hard to perfect a range of artistic techniques, including sketching, painting and printing. They have learned how to observe carefully, experiment with different media and reflect on how artists use colour, line, shape and texture to express ideas and emotions.
Our exhibition showcased artwork from each unit, allowing parents to see the children’s progress and the creativity they have demonstrated throughout the year. It was wonderful to see families taking time to admire the displays and celebrate the effort and perseverance that had gone into every piece.
The highlight of the exhibition was the children’s impressive clay heads, created following their recent visit to Southampton City Art Gallery. During the trip, the children explored portraiture and sculpture, using what they had learned to design and sculpt their own unique clay faces. The finished pieces beautifully demonstrated the skills they have developed and provided a fitting finale to a successful year in art.
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us to celebrate the children’s achievements. We are incredibly proud of every Year 3/4 artist and the enthusiasm, imagination and resilience they have shown throughout the year. We hope the exhibition has inspired everyone to continue appreciating the wonderful world of art.
Team 5 / 6:
What a busy week Team 5/6 has had!
We have been working incredibly hard getting everything ready for our performances of Star Warts – and then performed the show three times! We are so proud of all the children for their fantastic effort, enthusiasm and teamwork. Thank you to everyone who came to watch!
After such an exciting week, we took some time to slow down and reflect on our year together. We created memory posters, thinking back to everything we have experienced since September. From trips and special events to classroom learning and funny moments with our friends, everyone chose their favourite memories to include on their poster.
It was a lovely opportunity to celebrate just how much we have achieved and enjoyed together this year. Take a look at our photos to see some of our wonderful memory posters!
