Goodnight, Mr Tom

Last Friday, we celebrated World Book Day. The costumes were out in full and the children and staff had wonderful fun. Year 5/6 compared book covers of the stories they are studying in class and designed their own versions. I love the design in the featured image this week.

Year R - Celebrating World Book Day

We had the best time on World Book day! The children (and staff!) were so excited to come into school in their costumes and everyone enjoyed telling each other about the book they came from. Our day was jam packed with story book adventures – we went on a bear hunt, searched for creatures with Superworm, made our own Very Hungry Caterpillars and searched for the books naughty Nibbles had been munching!

Year 1/2 - Crazy about Computing!

The children have been putting their technical skills to creative use in computing this term. They have enjoyed using Chrome music lab to compose their own music. The children have enjoyed thinking about the music but also how they can create the patterns.

Year 5/6 - Comparing Book Covers

Year 5/6 had fun celebrating World Book Day. We enjoyed comparing book covers from Goodnight Mister Tom and then designed a new cover for this text or for our other key text: Whale Boy by Nicola Davies. There were also some fantastic dress up efforts: from popular fiction such as Supertato to classics like Alice in Wonderland. We were even graced by the autobiographical character,  Prince Harry!
