At Rownhams St John’s, inclusion is part of how we think about every child, every classroom and every opportunity. We work closely with children, families and professionals to identify needs, remove barriers and provide the right support so that every child can learn, participate and thrive.
Our approach to inclusion
Our starting point is high-quality, inclusive teaching for every child. Teachers adapt teaching, resources and the learning environment so that children can learn alongside their peers wherever possible.
When a child needs something more, we work with families to understand their needs, plan appropriate support and review how well it is helping. This follows a graduated approach of Assess, Plan, Do and Review.

SEND Information Report
Our SEND Information Report explains how we identify and support children with special educational needs and disabilities at Rownhams. It includes information about how needs are assessed, the support and adaptations we provide, how we work with children and families, transition arrangements, outside agencies and further local guidance.
Our Inclusion Team
Our Inclusion Team works closely with children, families and staff to support learning and development.
