Open days for pupils starting in September 2023

If you have a child starting school in September 2023, you are welcome to come along to one of Our Open Days.  The session will consist of a talk from the Headteacher or one of our Assistant Head Teachers, followed by a tour of the school.  They generally last around an hour. We would ask that children are not brought along to these sessions so that parents can fully engage with all the information given.  There will be plenty of opportunities for the children to visit school before they start later in the Summer term.

Starting School at Rownhams

Starting school for the very first time is wonderful and exciting time for everyone in the family but with such a big change it can also also cause anxiety and worry about what’s to come.

This year has been particularly difficult due to the restrictions caused by COVID-19 and we haven’t been able to run our transition in the way that we would have liked to.

So, whether your child is starting in September, or if you are thinking about applying for a Year R place next year, we have laid out some information below, which we hope will help you and your child get a sense of what to expect when starting school at Rownhams.

We are very excited to be welcoming our new Year R children in September and the whole of Team Rownhams cannot wait to meet them.

All the information into this year’s Year R can be found in Starting School Booklet below.

Watch our video to find out about the exciting and fun things you will be doing when you start in Year R.
